ABOUT US

Brief History of the Agency: Golden Ciphers was incorporated October 25, 2001.  This organization was developed and designed intentionally to fulfill our Mission Statement. One of the primary ways Golden Ciphers has been and will continue to meet this goal is through school based and community based programs, and by building partnerships with a wide array of community and neighborhood organizations.

These entities have a collective vision to empower and enrich the lives of our families especially our youth.
We offer culturally specific and achievable alternatives that will assist our youth in overcoming some of the obstacles they face. Our programs help our youth to recognize their uniqueness and see beyond what appears to be dead ends.

Golden Ciphers offers skills that will help them to be proactive and not merely reactive to their circumstances and surroundings. Golden Ciphers target population is African American high risk, youth ages 12 – 18.We service youth from Greater Cleveland, however, through our referrals from the Cuyahoga County Probation offices, we have received referrals for youth which reside in  Cleveland Heights,  Richmond  Heights,  South Euclid and   Shaker Heights. Our office is centrally located, which has proven to be a very accessible location for youth from other communities.

The successes have been that we have established a relationship with youth outside of the classroom.  Some we interact with in the community with other organizations, some in our after school programs, and some just on the street that remember the lessons taught.  We also have a good relationship with the teachers.
